ii-V-I in C Major: Improvisation Etude
The foundation of a bebop jazz improvisation is very straight forward. Almost pure mathematics.
Step 1 – Know your scales and arpeggios
Step 2 – Be able to connect the scales wherever they meet
Step 3 – Be able to play enclosures and connect them to scales and arpeggios
Step 4 – Add rhythmical variations to your lines
So, here is the magic formula:
Enclosures → Arpeggios → Scales → Enclosures → Arpeggios → Scales → Enclosures → Arpeggios → Scales
